A LUDLOW opticians is calling for locals to take part in a charity quiz night being held at the Burway Bowling Club on Tuesday 13 September.

Specsavers is organising the event in aid of Brain Tumour Research and Hope House Hospice. A team entry costs £10 with a maximum of four per team and all the proceeds will be donated to supporting both charities who offer very different but equally important charity services.

The quiz is part of a wider fundraising effort which has already seen store director Nicola Aubrey cut 12 inches from her hair, a sponsored bike ride and a charity car boot sale. All proceeds will contribute to the £5,000 that the store has pledged to raise by the end of the year.

‘We would love the people of Ludlow to get on board and contribute to these worthy causes,’ says Nicola. ‘We have been long time supporters of both charities with ongoing donations, so it would be great to raise as much money as possible. We are also looking for any local businesses that would like to show their support by donating prizes to the raffle that will take place throughout the night. Any prizes are greatly appreciated!’

Teams wishing to take part need to register in store. Teams should arrive at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
