LUDLOW Scouts have celebrated a special birthday.
IN the same month that the Battle of the Somme started Ludlow Scouts celebrate their 100th birthday.
The Cubs Scouts are 100 years old this year and Ludlow1st Scout Group held a party on Saturday, July 16 at Ludlow Junior School to celebrate Cub Scouting and to gather together cub scouts, leaders, helpers and parents past and present.
Ludlow Scouts are called Ludlow 1st Scout Group because it has been in existence since its formation in 1909 continuously and without a break.
The group is going strong with more than 100 young people meeting at the fabulous headquarters that was purchased in 2010.
There is an archive of photos and articles that was available for everyone to view on the day of the celebration, along with party games tea and cake.
