WORK has started on a sensory garden in Ludlow.
The garden in Ludlow will be in the Castle Street car park adjacent to the town walls.
It has been given a boost by £12,000 from Tesco – money from the sale of plastic carrier bags.
‘Ludlow in Bloom’ is behind the project and it will contain colour, texture and smells for the pleasure of visitors to that part of the town.
“We are glad to have been able to make a start so that it can bring pleasure during the summer,” said Vivienne Parry of Ludlow in Bloom.
It is hoped that the sensory garden will be completed in time for the visit from the ‘Heart of England in Bloom’ on Wednesday, July 7.
The results will be announced at a ceremony in Ludlow in September when the town is hoping to win another gold award.
