A FLAVOUR of France is coming to Brampton Bryan.

On Bank Holiday Monday (May 30), this year’s Spring Brocante and Flea Market at Aardvark Books & Café in Brampton Bryan will have a real French flavour.

True to the French origins of a brocante, there will be live accordion music played by Leominster's Norrie Davies on her antique French instrument, and the opportunity to enjoy a French breakfast, and also some delicious home-made French onion soup for lunch.

“In some ways, French onion soup is the hardest soup to make, as it relies upon sourcing really good quality onions, and also of bringing out their natural sweetness,” said Sarah Swinson, co-owner and soup chef.

“However when Sheridan and I were in Brittany last year, I discovered a superb recipe and I can’t wait to try it out on Aardvark’s customers and friends.”

This year’s flea market has well over 30 stalls encompassing vintage bric-a-brac, small antiques, crafts, jewellery, jams and jellies, and much more. As ever there will be bargains galore, and it pays to arrive early.
