IT was standing room only for a public meeting held by the environmental group Ludlow 21.

The meeting at the Charlton Arms attracted people keen to play a part in building a more sustainable future for Ludlow including students from the College.

As well as presentations and a question and answer session there was also a chance for people to network and share ideas.

“There was a general consensus that we can do more if we work together; that the time is ripe for us to take on more responsibility for our services and that we do need to plan for the longer term and consider our legacy for future generations,” said Denise Thompson, chair of Ludlow 21.

“We plan to have a follow up session next month with representatives from key organisations who have expressed a willingness to take this forward.”

Andy Boddington, who represents Ludlow on Shropshire Council suggested that the initiative is called LUDLOW 2040.
