THE organisers of Lakefest have revealed Cast as the final headline act, joining Primal Scream and We Are Scientists at the family friendly festival, which will be held in the grounds of the magical Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, from August 11 to August 14.

Cast originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most legendary and lauded guitar bands of all time, The La’s and Shack. Cast released four albums; their debut, All Change being the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records, their second album, Mother Nature Calls, went platinum. The original line-up of John Power (guitar/vocals), Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (lead guitar), Pete Wilkinson (bass) and Keith O’Neill (drums) have reunited with original producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) for Troubled Times. The reinvigorated band have produced an album full of the anthemic, melodic and beautifully written songs for which they have always been loved by their fervent fanbase. Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a reli-gious experience” – one we are sure will be replicated at Lakefest 2016.

Lee Martin, Lakefest Director, said, “We are thrilled to announce Cast as a headline act for Lakefest 2016. The team are dedicated to creating an eclectic line-up for this year, and I’m so excited to share this latest news with our loyal supporters. Lakefest 2015 exceeded all our expectations and was a staggering success for the team and we are, therefore, determined to make Lakefest 2016 even better than previous years. It really is a dream come true to be able to take the festival forward in such an immense way.”

Cast join the formerly announced Starsailor, Primal Scream, We Are Scientists, The Coral, Newton Faulkner, Afro Celt Sound System, Big Country, Molotov Jukebox, Secret Affair, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Duke Special, Roving Crows, The Cracked, Erica, For-eign Affairs, Jasper in the Company of Others, Altern8 - Live P.A and Baby D.
