GONGS, chimes and singing bowls might not seem the best idea for relaxation.

But that is exactly what sound can do as healing therapist Roise O’Caollaidhe, who originates from Australia, has been demonstrating at workshops in Ludlow.

“Sound can help people to go into a state of meditation and relax,” said Roise who works from a studio and in Tenbury lives on Brown Clee.

It is not a case of banging the instruments but playing them softly to put the ‘patient’ in a relaxed and meditative state.

The therapy is claimed to be particularly useful for people suffering from stress but can also be used to help with physical conditions.
