LUDLOW Rotary Club wants to hear from deserving causes in and around the town that could use some extra cash.

Following a year of successful fundraising, the Rotary Club of Ludlow is looking to invest some £3,000 in a range of local community projects.

In making grants in the past, the Rotary Club has relied on its knowledge of local need.

The club recognises, however, that there will be local charities and other organisations supporting community life in and around Ludlow of which it has no knowledge but who could benefit from a modest grant of up to £500.

‘Ludlow Rotary Cares’ is the name the club has given to an initiative to encourage applications from these organisations.

The club is open minded about the types of activities it will support so long as the project or programme responds to a community need in or within 15 miles of Ludlow.

It needs to know exactly what the money will be used for, who will benefit from it and how much difference it will make.

Organisations which meet the criteria will need to get their applications in by Thursday, October 15. Those which are shortlisted will be invited to an evening event on Tuesday, November 3 at which they will be asked to explain their project for a few minutes to a small panel including the Mayor of Ludlow, Cllr Paul Draper.

There will also be an opportunity to meet other applicants as well as members of the Rotary Club. Cheques will be handed out very soon afterwards!

Further details can be found on the website www.ludlowrotaryclub.org.uk/ludlow-rotary-cares which includes details of the criteria that will be applied and a simple application form.
