THE Ludlow Food Festival was an important learning experience for students from the sixth form college in the town.

Hospitality and Catering students from both Ludlow College and their sister course at HLC’s Hereford Campus stepped up to the mark to host the Ludlow Food Festival Celebratory dinner.

The dinner's purpose is to showcase the Ludlow Young Chef competition, local food and drink and the Graeme Kidd Bursary which assists young caterers.

It is hoped the event will raise awareness of the bursary, which is provided by the charity ‘Marches Food Matters’, amongst trainee chefs.

With help from bespoke venue stylists ‘Chillie Breeze’ and Ludlow College’s catering students, the College’s foyer was transformed into a first-class dining venue.

Fifty guests including the Festival Directors, College Principal and representatives from local businesses were served a three course dinner made with local produce. Students worked on putting together the menu as well as the practical preparatory work before the event.
