STUDENTS at Ludlow College have become the beneficiaries of a special award.

Joe Theodoulou, Alex Clewlow, and Dan Clewlow will benefit from the Caitlin’s Kickstart Award which was set up in memory of Caitlin Hurcombe.

The students will be helped with the ever-increasing costs of being at university by the award scheme for scholars.

While twins Alex and Dan are rock musicians, Joe wants to study rocks.

He is from Tenbury Wells and will be the first in his family to attend university.

Joe is still deciding whether to study geology at Leicester or Aberystwyth University.

Twin brothers Alex Clewlow and Dan Clewlow will both study commercial music at Bath Spa University.

"I would say that music is my life. I have a broad musical taste ranging from classical to rock," said Alex. "Both listening to and creating music gives me great happiness."

Dan said: "Ever since I was told that my grandmother had performed with Freddie Mercury and Liberace and was an amazing concert pianist, I have had a serious passion for music.

"We busk and gig regularly, in order to get better at music, and simply because I love it.

"Music is, and will always be, a huge part of my life and nothing would please me more than the opportunity to make my dream of becoming a professional musician come true."
