TRADERS in Ludlow are being encouraged to share information about crime in the town.
Ludlow’s Chamber of Trade has called upon shops in the town to share any information that they have about crime including burglary.
The call followed an incident in which cash, a safe and stock were stolen from Broad Bean in Broad Street.
Tish Dockerty, secretary of the Chamber of Trade, said that it was too easy to dismiss such incidents as low level crime that will be covered by insurance.
“A burglary or theft can make the difference between make or break for a small business struggling to survive,” she said.
“It is not always as easy as people think to recover money from insurance.”
She said that businesses that are the victims of burglary or theft could often find that this results in higher insurance premiums.
