I WOULD like to take the opportunity to personally say thank you for supporting our life-changing event; Joel’s Wish USA. Without your support the event wouldn’t have been a success, something I am forever grateful for.
I have been overwhelmed with how humbling the experience from the cycle ride has been. With your help we have been able to raise awareness of Joel’s Wish to over 500,000 people. Joel was my best friend and I feel extremely proud to have lived out his dream of travelling across America. I am comfortable in the knowledge of having made memories with the most selfless people I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Our objectives for the event were:
• To raise money to support young adults, between 19-30, with a life-limiting cancer diagnosis
• To raise awareness of Joel’s Wish in the hope to inspire a nationwide support network
• To create opportunities for Joel’s Wish and partners for the future
• To donate 20% of all money raised to Severn Hospice (Hospice at Home) who cared for Joel
• To fulfil Joel’s dream of travelling across America
Your support has allowed us to successfully achieve our objectives for Joel’s Wish USA. We have currently raised £15,000 and are very close to our fundraising target of £20,000. If you are able to share our website joelswish.org with people you know, our fundraising goal will also be achieved.
Any donations will go towards supporting young adults with cancer by means of funding for travel, accommodation and equipment costs. We want to ensure families and patients don’t have to worry about the financial implications of cancer, instead spending their time making priceless memories.
I am in the process of writing a book from the journey and we also have a feature documentary in the pipeline. I will ensure that you are informed once they have been completed.
Once again, on behalf of everyone associated with Joel’s Wish USA, thank you. Joel’s Wish USA has been a life-changing experience and it is humbling to know that you have been a part of this incredible challenge.
