A WELL known pub near Ludlow is in new hands.

After completing extensive renovations at the Salwey Arms in Woofferton in 2012, owners Hugo and Cilla Lywood are handing over the reins to brothers James and Matthew Jenneson.

The Jenneson brothers have moved to Shropshire from New Zealand and Scotland with their families and will acquire ownership of the inn this month.

Originally from Yorkshire but having lived outside of England for several years, the brothers agreed it was time to move back closer to their original roots.

The inn currently boasts a bar, restaurant, function rooms and accommodation as well as a large beer garden. The Jennesons also see potential to develop the site further.

“After 10 years living in New Zealand, it was time to move home, and Shropshire is the perfect place for us as we all enjoy the outdoors," said James.

"I have always loved this area and it is a dream come true to have found the right business here.”

The Salwey Arms, a grade II listed inn, was empty for several years until it was purchased by Hugo and Cilla Lywood in 2012.

The couple restored the property and created a successful business, however after two years of managing the inn they felt they were ready to sell to the right buyers.

Cilla and Hugo will remain a part of the inn for a while fulfilling their obligations with current functions and ensuring a smooth hand-over.
