THE Bishop of Hereford has made his first official visit to Ludlow.

Bishop Richard Frith visited Ludlow CE School on Bromfield Road early on Friday.

He then attended the toddlers group at St. Laurence’s Church.

The group started in St.John's Church but was invited to meet temporarily at St Laurence’s after part of St. John’s had to be physically closed off.

Bishop Richard then paid a visit to the Ludlow Foyer, a residential facility for homeless young people from throughout Shropshire.

He had the opportunity to meet with some of the young people using it, as well as a number of the Foyer's supporters.

Later in the day he met with the churchwardens of St.Laurence’s.

Bishop Richard then had a meeting at Ludlow's Methodist Church to talk with representatives of Churches Together Around Ludlow to discuss their reports ‘Ludlow Under Pressure’ and ‘Ludlow Under Continuing Pressure’.

Finally, Bishop Richard met with Ludlow Town Council to discuss issues concerning the town and the impact of decisions taken at county level.
