THERE was a spectacular start for FootGolf on Saturday when Sapey Golf Club saw its first ever hole in one.
Stan Jones, 56, registered the eagle with an incredible 123 yard punt from the first tee.
Chris Knowles, PGA Professional at Sapey Golf Club, said: “It was an amazing shot. It’s rare in golf to get a hole in one, but in Footgolf probably even more so. I’ve certainly never seen anything like it.
“There’s no prize for a hole in one but he went in the clubhouse afterwards and bought everyone a pint.”
Bristol City defender Mark Little opened the course to the UK’s fastest growing sport.
This weekend the club will be holding its first FootGolf ranking event, as the sport gets competitive.
