A DIY SOS has been launched to bring Tenbury Scout Hut into the 21st century.

The hut next to the swimming pool and leisure centre is used almost every day of the week.

More than 120 scouts, clubs, rangers, beavers, guides, brownie and rainbow members use the hall. The guides have just used the hall for a fundraising jumble sale.

It is also the home of a mother and toddler group as well as other community organisations.

However, it is badly in need of a major make over especially to the kitchen area.

This will involve installing a new double sink, cooker and fridge as well as redecoration.

In order to get the work done Group Scout Leader Graham Lewis would like to hear from any tradesmen or women in the Tenbury area who would be willing to donate their expertise.

“If any plumbers, electricians or carpenters would like to give us a hand that would be great,” said Mr Lewis.

“It is the original kitchen that dates back 25 years and so is badly in need of a refurbishment.”

All being well the work will be undertaken during the Easter school holiday.

He added that any donations to help the project would also be very welcome.

Mr Lewis can be contacted at the Ludlow Scout Hut where he will be found every Friday evening between 7pm and 9pm.
