LUDLOW will fly a flag for the Commonwealth next month.
It will happen at the Buttercross at 10am on Monday March 9.
During this event, which is happening simultaneously across the commonwealth, a specially written Commonwealth Affirmation will be read out by the mayor of Ludlow Cllr Paul Draper before the raising of the Commonwealth Flag.
Afterwards at 10.30am St Laurence’s Church will hold a service as part of the national Single Commemorative Act of Remembrance for the First World War.
The Venerable Colin Williams, mayor of Ludlow Cllr Draper, and Ludlow town councillors welcome everyone to join them for a short service.
A candle will be lit and remain alight for the next 12 months as a reminder to all who see it not only of the sacrifices made during the past 100 years through military conflicts but also as a symbol of hope.
