A GROUP in Ludlow that has been campaigning for better access for disabled people for 20 years is facing an uncertain future.

Ludlow Access Group is at risk of becoming unviable after the loss of several members as a result of illness or family issues.

"The South Shropshire Access Group has been going for 20 years and in that time has succeeded in helping people with all sorts of disability issues in this area as well as fighting for the rights for the disabled to gain entry to shops and businesses,” said Vivienne Parry who is chair of the group and member for Ludlow South on Shropshire Council.

“Because we have lost several members over the last two years through illness and with people moving away, we are in urgent need of new members.

"We welcome anyone of any disability or with none and we especially need active people who can help with the organisation of some of our activities.

The group meets at Guy Thornycroft Court in Ludlow the third Tuesday of every month at 2pm.

Anyone interested in joining should call Mrs Parry on 01584 873604.
