DEVELOPERS who want to build a housing estate in Leintwardine have amended their offer of community funding, reducing it by more than £95,000.
L W D Developments LLP offered £555,794 in S106 monies for community infrastructure with the planning application for 57 homes off Rosemary Lane in the north Herefordshire village.
But as they reduced the size of the development to 45 properties, the funding offered for off-site play contribution (£65,402) and off-site indoor play contribution (£31,168) was withdrawn.
Louise Steele, from Framptons Planning Consultants, said: “The council’s S106 contribution requirements are based on formulas set out in adopted council policy, i.e. they relate to the number of units proposed.
“As the proposed number of dwellings has been significantly reduced to 45, there is no longer a council policy requirement for S106 payments towards off-site indoor play facilities or off-site play facilities. Therefore the draft S106 heads of terms have been amended.”
The remaining £459,224 is offered for sustainable transport, enhanced library services, education facilities and waste reduction. The money goes to Herefordshire Council but council spokesman, Michelle Morgan, said it is ring fenced to be spent on the infrastructure identified in the heads of terms.
There have been objections to the application which will be decided by the council on Wednesday.
