PEOPLE passing a Ludlow opticians might well have thought their eyes were deceiving them.

Customers visiting Specsavers in Ludlow town centre were greeted by a sea of pink as part of a fundraising day for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Staff wore pink wigs and t-shirts while customers were also able to take part in a ‘guess the name of the teddy’ competition in return for a voluntary donation to Breast Cancer Care.

“Sadly, breast cancer is the most common form of the disease in the UK,” said Nicola Aubrey, the store director.

"Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide support charity helping the thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day. Specialist nurses, local services and emotional support network mean there’s always someone to turn to for information and support."
