LUDLOW Assembly Rooms has secured more top prizes for its fund-raising auction tomorrow.

These include lunch for two with a bottle of house wine at chef Shaun Hill’s Michelin starred restaurant The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny.

Ludlow’s own Jane Lloyd has offered to come round to the home of a winner and cook a three course dinner for up to eight people.

For those who want to get away from it all without the hassle of travelling long distances, Fishmore Hotel has offered one night’s stay for two people in a gorgeous double room with a three course dinner, followed by a full English breakfast in the morning.

Sir Roy Strong, the esteemed art historian, broadcaster and museum curator, has also made a very kind contribution to the auction:a private visit to Herefordshire’s The Laskett Gardens for up to four people followed by tea or drinks and a signed copy of his latest book 'Remaking of a Garden: The Laskett Transformed'.

These prizes add to an existing line-up that includes holiday accommodation in London and Wales, a tour of the House of Lords, vintage ports and wines, and a hot air balloon trip.

“The funds raised from this event play an important role in the upkeep and running of Ludlow Assembly Rooms,” said Cy Jones who is organizing the event.

"I would like to say a big thank you to the generosity of local businesses and the hard work of patrons who have done all they can to ensure that this year’s prizes are the best yet.”

People unable to attend the auction but who would like to bid on a lot, can submit a sealed bid at the box office any time before 6.30pm tomorrow when the Assembly Rooms opens for viewing of bids.

Admission to the auction is £5.
