AN event at Ludlow Brewery has raised £700 for the Ludlow Community Hospital.

Featuring the Ludlow Male Voice Choir directed by Margaret Davies every ticket was sold well in advance and Ludlow Brewery accommodated a capacity audience.

“My phone just didn’t stop ringing with people wanting tickets” said Marina Clent, League Committee Member “and I had to disappoint a lot of people who wanted to attend”.

Peter Corfield, Chairman of The League, thanked Gary Walters and his staff at The Ludlow Brewery for making the venue available and added

The League, which has funded equipment costing over £260,000 in recent years, is currently adapting and furnishing a relatives room at the Hospital to provide comfort for those who need to be on hand during the critical phase of a patient’s stay in hospital. New toys for the Minor Injuries Unit kiddies corner, a new MIU treatment chair and major projects potentially costing almost £100,000 are also in hand.

“This was a departure from our normal fundraising methods and was so successful and entertaining that we will certainly be repeating the event,” said Peter Corfield.
