DOGS took top of the bill at a south Shropshire church summer fete.

The novelty dog show was the centre piece of the fete at St Peter’s Church in Diddlebury.

Parishioners brought along their dogs to show off and the more energetic ones took part in challenges including an agility test.

But the event in the church hall and on the school field did not completely belong to the dogs.

Visitors had a chance to buy from a number of different stalls as well as to take part in wellie wangling.

One of the big attractions was some classic and vintage cars including a 1929 Austin 12 and an iconic 1955 3.4 litre Jaguar XK140.

St Peter’s Church dates back to 1322 and is one of just four churches in Shropshire with substantial Anglo-Saxon remains.

Following a short break the next fund raising event will be a visit from the Derby singers in August.
