PEOPLE in Ludlow and south Shropshire are being warned to be on their guard against banking scams.
It comes after an incident in which an elderly woman was cheated of £100,000.
The 89-year-old woman was conned into transferring nearly £100,000 from her bank account.
Police warn that scammers tend to target vulnerable people and it is important to remember to ensure callers are genuine.
If anyone receives suspicious calls or has any information on these types of scams they should contact the police on 101.
