A MAN with more than 20 years experience of ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ has taken over as co-ordinator of the scheme in Clee Hill.

Ian Griffiths has been involved with the Neighbourhood Watch movement since 1992.

Between 1992 and 2004 he was a deputy area co-ordinator for a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme that had more than 350 members.

Recently Ian moved to Three Crosses Sheltered Accommodation in Clee Hill Village and took on the role as co-ordinator after Ann Jenkins had to step down because of other commitments

“Both myself and West Mercia Police would like to thank for her for all her hard work,” said Ian Griffiths.

“I shall have new window stickers arriving soon and new lamppost signs stating that people are entering a Neighbourhood Area.

“At the moment I'm looking for old and new members who would like to join.”

The area is Three Crosses, Clee Hill High Street, and surrounding area including Tenbury Road, Clee Hill Primary School, Clee Hill Stores, the post office, bakery and fish and chip shop.

“We have a very good relationship with the Neighbourhood Safety Team from Ludlow Police Station, Inspector Rob Thomas, PC Richard Dixon and Police Community Support Officer Jamie Guest,” added Ian Griffiths.

If anyone wishes to either set up or join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme in the Ludlow Area then they should contact Mike Jones at West Mercia Police in Shrewsbury.
