YOUNG Farmers from Ludlow joined those from across Shropshire in showing their support to victims of the floods in Somerset.
Their big hearted efforts are in support of the national ForageAid appeal, which supplies hay, straw and other livestock feed to fellow farmers in the flood-hit South West.
A number of members from all 18 young farmers’ clubs throughout the county met with Ludlow Young Farmers at Ludlow Livestock Market on Tuesday to prepare and load seven tractors and trailers for the journey.
The convoy left at 5am this morning on a 10 hour round trip with the route planned with military precision.
Ben Sanders, chairman of Ludlow YFC, said: “I am pleased to see the amount of support Young Farmers’ across our county have given, by giving what they can spare to the flooded farmers.
"I am also delighted the Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs are part of such an important national effort.”
