Mrs Mary Blount of Sheet Road, Ludlow says Gospels are the Christian voice

WITH regard to “Christian Voice” (Ludlow Advertiser, April 12), I cannot accept Mr RP King’s words as “Christian” voice.

Easter is the celebration of Our Risen Saviour, Jesus Christ, Son of God. The Bible is the inspired word of God and I believe it, as so many others do. As St Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 verse 17, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins.”

Verse 20 goes on to affirm positively: “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.”

Our cry on Easter morning and should be every day: “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!” Hallelujah!

Jesus himself says in St Luke 24 verse 39: “Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself ! Touch me and see a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

The gospels and our individual experience of Jesus Christ alive are the Christian voice that our world needs today.
