Sian Bailey, retail manager of Severn Hospice Shops your clutter may be our lifeline

WE are being encouraged these days to “declutter”

and are being persuaded that we will feel a lot better if we do – especially after Christmas when we’ve generally collected more items we shall never use.

Can I encourage your readers to consider having a good decluttering session not just for their own benefit but for others?

Our clutter can be very useful to someone and can certainly be used to raise money for a charity such as Severn Hospice.

Our 17 hospice shops throughout Shropshire and mid-Wales are always in need of good quality items which are sold on to raise much-needed funds to help the hospice to care for people with lifethreatening illnesses and their families.

The hospice helped more than 1,300 people last year. In 2010 that number is likely to rise and your “clutter” could help to meet the cost of this service.

Why not have a sort-out and take any unwanted items along to your nearest hospice shop?

SIAN BAILEY, Retail Manager, Severn Hospice Shops.
