JEREMY Corbyn’s plain statement of his attitude to Trident and ‘pressing the button’ may make us think afresh about the question.
Is deterrence still the right policy for UK or is ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’(MAD) as mad as it sounds, taking into account the kind of threats we face and the huge expense?
We may come to the conclusion that deterrence works, we may not.
