I HAVE been deafened by the silence coming from certain quarters of Ludlow regarding the disruption to the town by the food festival.
The town is disrupted for a comparable number of days, we have thousands more people, lots more noise and blocked pavements due to the park-and-ride queues, yet no complaints. Is it because the “right sort of people” visit?
I noticed traders selling pies, pasties, cheeses etc unrefrigerated. How can that be allowed?
I also must have missed the repeal of the alcohol ban in the town centre somewhere along the way as it was being ignored by all.
I have supported the food festival from the start, I was also a life member of Ludlow Festival, I also support the May Fair, but it’s about time that Ludlow realises it will die if it does not include everyone and everything. It is teetering on the edge now.
The population is being pushed more to the edges of the town, people are having to travel further for jobs as the town centre is turning itself into a faux theme park of quaint, empty shops.
