THE purpose of my writing is twofold. Firstly to comment on the ridiculous article in the Tenbury Wells Advertiser (July 30) in which local resident Mr Woodhams complained that Tenbury Show makes no concessions for pensioners and secondly to say a huge thank you to all the incredible team of people that once again brought us a very successful show.
Tenbury Show represents amazing value for money and I have no doubt because many of my friends and customers tell me that much of its success in down to keeping the admission prices low and affordable to all, including pensioners. Remember as well, that pensioners are not necessarily the less well off in society and many families are finding it difficult to make ends meet. By keeping prices low makes it fair to everyone. At an advance purchase price of £8 it is far cheaper than most other shows' concessionary rates. Having spent over 30 years as a trade stand holder at many shows, I can assure Mr Woodhams that there is no other countryside show that offers such a great day at such a reasonable price.
Secondly a huge thank you to the hard working team of people that put this show on. I know many of the people who work all year round preparing for this show and their expertise and dedication is second to none. It is without doubt the best organised, the best laid out show and the one with the best atmosphere that I have ever attended. Thank you to the Tenbury Agricultural Society for a very enjoyable and successful day. If Mr Woodhams made it to the show, I hope he too had a great day.
