FOLLOWING on from John Bland’s letter (Protect Shops, Letters, July 23), if and when the Tesco development is completed, I think we would sooner or later have the inevitable three-way traffic lights encompassing the A456, the bridge and pedestrian crossings with all the associated queues and delays plus parking problems.
Nevermind a few tourists, what about all the people such as myself living north of the river who have to visit Tenbury not only to shop, but for appointments at the doctor, dentist, optician or hairdresser, to play tennis, bowls, football or rugby, have a swim, take the children to the play area, do the recycling, dispose of the garden waste, visit the library, use a cash machine or get a takeaway?
My guess is that each visit would then include an extra 10 minutes or more in the car.
While councillors living south of the river may not notice much difference, perhaps Cleobury Mortimer would then be more accessible for me.
