I AM genuinely concerned after reading once again the future of Ludlow Hospital is uncertain.

It seems most weeks I am reading about the uncertain future of our much-needed and much-used hospital.

It’s a great comfort to know we have that facility as we live in Ludlow and have no transport.

Last year my partner woke in the early hours with excruciating chest pains.

He made his way to the hospital, which is thankfully just five minutes away, where nurses came to the door and after getting him inside, realised he was having a heart attack.

Luckily, there was a paramedic on site who looked after and treated him until an ambulance arrived over an hour later.

I dread to think what the out come would have been if there was no one at the hospital or if indeed there was no facility because I don’t think he would still be here today if he never had that medical intervention so early on.

So please, don’t scale down or remove our hospital services, there are those of us who rely on it deeply.
