I READ that Ludlow Town Council are concerned that another supermarket is planned for Rocks Green.
Town centre shopkeepers certainly suffer from such developments, so I suggest that any planning approval should contain a proviso that the property owners pay an annual sum, in perpetuity, to the council, ring fenced to abate ‘in town’ retail shops’ business rates.
This will enable high street shops to flourish and retain the diversity which we all wish for in our town centre.
