Below is a letter to the head teacher and staff at Onny School regarding the recent visit of a Monet painting to the school.

We would like to point out that the school has 58 pupils, not 23, as stated in last week’s article:

I just wanted to write and convey my admiration on what you all made happen yesterday. The electric atmosphere which was oozing with excitement was down to all your hard work. Without staff members putting their heart and soul into the day (and all those hours before it), it would not have been such a success.

I'm sure you all were absolutely exhausted last night, but really buzzing.

This is a time in those lucky children's lives that they will never forget. For some it will be the only time they get to see a real painting, and not just any painting one painted by Monet.

The children's behaviour was outstanding. Those working in the cafe were a credit to the school. They were polite, hard working, and very professional. The cafe had a wonderful atmosphere, and transported me to Paris.

It was wonderful to see all their little faces, glowing with excitement and awe.

You could see and feel what yesterday meant to each and everyone of them.

Please pass my congratulations to everyone.
