WORDS fail me regarding the incompetence of those who did the projections regarding Ludlow's doomed hospital and health village. One can only hope that the consultants responsible will be sued so that at least some money is recovered which can be spent on improving East Hamlet hospital.

But then who am I kidding? Most of what might be recovered would be spent on lawyers’ fees so it's probably best to leave it alone.

What hasn't been mentioned is the collateral damage that was done to other ventures in Ludlow as grant monies were directed, at converting the Mascall Centre into dormitory space for the trainee medical staff who were to run the new hospital. The Assembly Rooms in Ludlow for instance had its g rant aid slashed. So what innovative use will the Mascall Centre's redundant dormitories be put to?

Interestingly it trades as a bed and breakfast, advertising newly refurbished dormitory rooms ideal for walkers and with ample on-site parking.

I wonder how many bed and breakfast owners in Ludlow would like to have used council money to refurbish their accommodation?
