THE Advertiser rightly led on its front page, August 1, with the final knockings of the Ludlow Health Village. Over £2.5 million of public money down the plughole and now it turns out it was apparently a non-runner in the first place.
Even a few weeks ago people, including our well-informed local MP, were still saying they were hopeful of a positive outcome.
Normally a waste of public money over apparently obvious mistakes would attract condemnation from a Tory MP but perhaps he was a bit too close to this fiasco for his comfort. I wonder what he knew and when he knew it. Perhaps he'd let us know in the pages of the Advertiser in one of his regular columns.
