MORE than 60 children from primary schools have taken part in an art competition themed ‘Farming in the Shropshire Hills’.
The competition celebrates the end of the Shropshire Hills Farming Project and its work with local schools over the last two years.
“We have had such a great response from the children we have worked with throughout the Farming Project,” said Vicky Wood, the farming community officer who organised the competition.
“Their enthusiasm for the many different activities we have been involved in has been great and the art competition is no exception.
“Local artist Katy Alston helped to choose two winners from the many excellent entries.”
Lauren Stevens, from Wistanstow CE Primary School, won the key stage one class and Mia Gatehouse, from Clee Hill Community Primary School won the key stage two class.
Both received a family season ticket for Acton Scott Historic Working Farm.
