12-month-old Charbron Harvest, weighing in at 700k, won his age category for his group for ages born from July 4 2012 to October 24 2012 and drew a lot of interest from other breeders.

"There were breeders from all over the country so we were up against some very strong competition,"

said Mike.

"All the breeders were there and hopefully the show will become the big event for Charolais breeders in England."

Alasdair Houston, chairman of the British Charolais Cattle Society which organised the event, said: “We’ve had a fantastic day at the inaugural National Charolais Show at the NEC, with entries from throughout England and Wales putting on a fine display of young cattle.

"The event can and will go from strength-to-strength and we hope to attract even more entries next year.”
