FUNGI can be fun but also highly dangerous.

A group from south Shropshire has been in the woods on an autumn fungus foray.

It was led by John Hughes of the Shropshire Wildlife Trust who is an expert on fungi.

The foray through the Mortimer's Forest started from the Black Pool car park in Richard's Castle. It was organised by the Ludlow, Clun and Bishops Castle branches of the Wildlife Trust.

Fungi, which include mushrooms, can of course be very tasty when cooked but great care has to be taken because some species can be deadly poisonous.
