ON September 3, Newcastle Crown Green Bowling Club held their annual charity doubles bowls knockout - the Spar Pairs Bowling Trophy.

This was sponsored by Rob Davis from Spar, Clun and Clun Valley Foods.

The charity chosen by Rob was Hope House Hospices for Children.

A great day of bowling was had by all. Spar at Clun owned by Rob Davis donated the food for the days event. Rob Davis also donated food from Clun Valley Foods. The Blakemore Foundation which supports local charity causes very generously donated a cheque for £200.

With the entry fee for the players, a raffle and sale of the donated food Newcastle Bowling Club were able to raise £456.70.

Donations were also kindly received from bowlers unable to attend the day. This was added to the Blakemore Foundation cheque resulting in a grand total of £656.70.
