A FUNDRAISING campaign has been unveiled to help secure the future of SpArC in Bishop's Castle.

Building on the success of last year’s events and achievements, the Bishop’s Castle Save the SpArC fund-raising group gets cracking with planning the ongoing campaign for 2017.

Bishop’s Castle arts week from Wednesday, February 22 until to Saturday, February 25 includes a Great BC bake-off competition in aid of SpArC at Bank House , details on www.bishopscastleartsfestival.co.uk as well as paintings for sale at the SpArC centre.

Events planned so far for this year include a curry and quiz night at the Six Bells on Thursday, March 2. Teams of four can sign up at the Six Bells. Contact 01588 630144 for more information. The cost is £10 per person, to include curry.

On Sunday, March 5 at 2.30pm there is a ‘Don’t let the SpArC go out’ fundraiser with live music ‘Celebrating life through song and dance’ at the SpArC theatre. The cost is £8 adults/ under18’s £6 / family £25.

Other events will include a car wash, table-top sale and apple-pressing day at the public hall with the aim of turning these into annual events.

Plans being considered include a dedicated local lottery, regular named sponsorships from local businesses, and perhaps appeals for celebrity donations/sponsorships.
