MANY thanks to everyone who supported the Tree of Light. The event began with a torchlit procession with singers from the Ludlow Male Voice Choir and A Capella. The lights on the tree in the Castle Gardens which had been installed by the town council were switched on by the Mayor Paul Draper as part of the town's switch on.

Rotarians Tony Robinson and Diane Lyle were particularly involved in distributing dedication forms around the town, which were also available on line. Nock Deighton and St Laurence's church kindly agreed to be collection points for dedication forms. Diane collected and collated the forms too. There are almost 70 individual dedications and several hundred pounds have been raised thanks to the generosity of the donors.

The Ludlow and Tenbury Wells Advertiser published a list of the dedications as they came in. They were also available on line thanks to the Rotary webmaster Alistair Thornley. The Book of Remembrance for 2016 is now in St Laurence's church and is published online at ludlowrotaryclub.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Book-of-Remembrance-2016.pdf.

Ludlow Rotary Club hopes that many people have enjoyed the Tree of Light which after Twelfth Night has returned to its usual dark green foliage. It has again offered a chance for people to celebrate and commemorate as well as supporting local charities.
