THE winners of the Knighton Town Council, Knighton in Bloom awards were announced recently at The Red Lion in the town.
The results were as follows;
Hanging baskets and window boxes private: 1st Mr and Mrs Kirkham 5 Bridge Street; 2nd Mrs Doreen Bowen 19 Pontfean; 3rd Dennis and Marion Tyler 26 Ffrydd Terrance.
Commercial: 1st Knighton Hotel; 2nd Hafren Vets.
Best kept council estate garden in Pontfaen, Laurels Meadow, Fronhir and The Ffrydd: 1st Stan Beech, 7 Pontfaen; 2nd Brian Neary, 11 Fronhir; 3rd Tim and Sue Walker 25 Laurels Meadow and D Price 35 Ffrydd Terrace.
Best kept council estate garden (flowers Radnor Drive only: 1st Mandy Rigby No 7; 2nd M Martin No 81; 3rd J Martin No 22.
Allotments best variety of produce: John and Gill Husbands.
Best presented allotment: Derek Green.
Best kitchen allotment: C Moses.
