BISHOP Castle’s Tandem Triathlon walking festival is to host for the first a spectacular Colour Run.

Friends and frequent users of the threatened SpArC, Debbie O’Shea, Gill Medlicott, Mandy Cooke and Polly Owen have organised this event to raise money for the leisure and arts centre which is under threat of closure.

The 5km event starts and finishes at the SpArC and entrants can run, walk or jog independently or in a group. (Under 16s will need parental permission and under 11’s must be accompanied by an adult.)

Entrants should wear white or light colours and will start in the colour arena where all participants will throw bags of coloured powder creating a rainbow of colour.

Throughout the course there will be colour stations and water stations where spectators and marshals will throw powder over the runners to create a multi-coloured finish which will be captured on camera.

Entry costs £10 which includes a pack of coloured powder and a bottle of water.

“Colour Runs are a different and fun way to raise money for good causes,” said Debbie O’Shea.

“The product is corn starch based, so is biodegradeable.

“We want as many entrants as possible as well as loads of supporters to throw their colours.”

The run is on Saturday, September 24 at 12noon.

Entry forms are available online at www.savethesparc.org on Facebook - Bishops Castle Colour Run, at the SpArC front desk or Enterprise House in Bishops Castle.

Completed forms should be returned with payment either at the SpArC or Enterprise House. Entry is £10.
