A CYCLING ‘Treasure Hunt’ with a difference is planned to help secure the future for a community facility in Bishop's Castle.

It will raise funds for the ‘Don’t let the SpArC go out’ campaign.

The cycle ride is planned for the weekend of August 20 and 21.

Organised by Julie and Malcolm Furber of New Street Cycles the event is a self-directed cycle route with a choice of 50 different marked locations where answers to clues can be found. The questions and a local map can be collected from New Street Cycles at the start.

Suitable for cyclists of all abilities either as teams, individuals or family groups, anyone taking part chooses their own route to find the answers to a range of different questions in different towns and villages around Bishop’s Castle.

”This is a great way to find out more about our local countryside around Bishop’s Castle,” said Julie Furber.

“You can visit as few or as many of the locations you choose and complete them at your own pace on either of the days or on both. If you enjoy cycling and would like to explore the local area this is a great way to do it as well as raising money towards the ‘Save the SpArC’ campaign at the same time”

The ride is on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. People wanting to take part can book in advance or on the day at New Street Cycles.

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children or participants can raise their own sponsorship. Full details are at: www.newstreetcycles.uk
