RUGS from Persia and Afghanistan will be on sale in Bishop's Castle.
Bishop’s Castle Town Hall is the place to go at the weekend if you want a new quality rug.
From today (Thursday July 21) until Saturday Persian and Afghan rugs are on sale in the upper floor of the town hall.
The town hall is open from 10am to 4pm on each of the days of the sale
Bishop's Castle Town Hall is run by a charitable trust comprising three local organisations – the town council, House on Crutches Museum and the Bishop's Castle and Clun Tourism Community Interest Company.
The 18th century, Grade 2* listed town hall received a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for its restoration and renovation.
Other funders included the Pilgrim Trust; EU money from Leader; Shropshire Council; and £62,500 which has been raised locally (£5,000 of which remains to be raised during 2015).
The building was re-opened in June 2014 and employs five part-time workers supported by a growing group of dedicated volunteers.
Since re-opening, the building has been the venue for markets, music, fairs, exhibitions, talks and special events.
