A LUDLOW legal firm is helping to support youngsters at one of the town's primary schools by sponsoring its sports teams.

Corve Street-based mfg Solicitors have linked up with St Laurence C of E Primary School to sponsor their Year 5 and Year 6 football and netball sides – providing new blue and gold kits for their matches against other schools from the local area.

Richard Connolly, partner at mfg Solicitors, said: "As a firm we continue to play an active role in the community here in Ludlow so supporting the children and their sporting talents was an easy decision to make.

"We have close links with the school and its staff and we will be taking a keen interest in their various successes in the weeks and months ahead. We are delighted to be involved."

Stephen Matthews, head teacher of St Laurence C of E Primary School, added: "The children are so proud of their new kits and they look fantastic when they come up against other schools.

"We cannot thank the team at mfg Solicitors enough for their support and generosity and we are looking forward to keeping everyone at the firm updated with our progress on the football pitch and on the netball court in the months ahead."

Since merging with Ludlow firm Phillips and Co in June 2013, mfg Solicitors have gone on to significantly grow its office in the town where it now has a team of six who advise clients from across the local area on legal matters including farming, property, tax, wills and probate.

St Laurence C of E Primary School is based in Jockey Field and has over 230 pupils aged from three to 11.
