DURING Fairtrade fortnight the Knighton Fairtrade group held a coffee morning and raffle at the Old Garage in West Street, Knighton to launch the increase in Fairtrade products sold in the shop.
At the event there was a chance to enjoy some Fairtrade coffee, tea, and cakes, check out the Fairtrade goods on offer and have a chat.
Since 2004 members of the Knighton group have sold Fairtrade products at local markets and events but have now decided to step down and have handed over their remaining stock to Nick and Alice who run the Old Garage Shop and who will be stocking a increased range of Fairtrade products in the future.
At the coffee morning £130 was raised, this money will be divided between The Fairtrade Foundation and Medecins sans Frontieres (doctors without borders). The main raffle prize was won by Lyn Heakin.
