CLUN Castle was established by the Norman lord Robert de Say and was an important Marcher lord castle in the 12th century.
The castle played an important role in repelling Welsh invaders but by the 16th century was largely ruined.
Owned by the Duke of Norfolk, the castle was renovated in the 1890s and remains a tourist attraction, as captured by our photographer Andy Compton.
